The Digital Toolbox: The Tools I Can’t Live Without During My Business Pivot

By:  Carolyn Wright

Happy Day 23 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge!
When you run a business—or when you are actively preparing to pivot into a brand-new venture like I am—your day-to-day routine relies heavily on a few indispensable tools. Today’s challenge asks us to share the programs or websites we absolutely cannot live without.
Lately, my focus has been on rebuilding, organizing, and learning. To do that successfully, I have come to rely on a mix of creative visual platforms and cutting-edge technology.
Here are the tools currently keeping me sane, inspired, and moving forward:
1. Canva: My Creative Design Studio
Whether I am designing graphics for this blog, creating beautiful social media posts, or mapping out future branding ideas, Canva is an absolute lifesaver. Back when my previous home decor company was flourishing, having clean, professional visuals was everything. Canva makes it easy for anyone to look like a professional graphic designer without needing a tech degree. It keeps my brand looking beautiful and cohesive!
2. AI and ChatGPT: My Ultimate Brainstorming Partner
Stepping into a new business chapter means I am constantly brainstorming new content, looking for fresh angles, and writing daily. ChatGPT and AI have become my favorite digital assistants. Whenever I get stuck on a topic or need help organizing my thoughts for a post, AI helps me break through writer's block instantly. It doesn't replace my voice, but it certainly speeds up the process so I can focus on connecting with all of you!
3. My Blogging Platform: My Virtual Front Porch
A website or blogging platform is the digital home base. It is the place where I can share my journey transparently, archive my ideas, and directly interact with this amazing community. Without a central spot to write and connect, building a business online would feel impossible.
How These Tools Help Me Serve You Better
By mastering these tools behind the scenes right now, I am ensuring that when I officially launch my new pivot, the experience for you will be seamless, visually beautiful, and packed with high-quality value. Technology can be intimidating, but when used right, it opens up so many doors!

I’d love to hear from you: If you run a business or a blog, what is the one tool you absolutely cannot live without? Let me know in the comments below!

Ultimate Blog Challenge

Day 22: What I Am Offering (And Where We Go From Here)

Welcome to Day 22 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge! Today’s prompt asks an important question that every writer, creator, and business owner must face from time to time: What are you currently offering? What can folks expect, and how can it help them?
If you had asked me this question a couple of years ago, my answer would have been instant. For a long time, my passion was rooted in direct sales, home consulting, and running my own printing business. Many of you remember my journey with Signature HomeStyles, a company I absolutely loved being a part of. When they permanently closed their doors on April 15, 2025, it was a heavy moment for so many of us in the community. I missed the catalog drops, the beautiful organizing solutions, and the exclusive New Year's Bonus Awards that brought so much style into our daily lives.
But if my time tilling the soil of business taught me anything, it is that a true entrepreneur is born to serve. I get my greatest daily joy out of meeting people, listening to their stories, and bringing happiness into their lives through excellent service.
So, what am I offering right now?
Right now, I am offering my voice, my daily inspiration, and a safe space for community.
I am currently in a beautiful season of transition. I am not selling a physical product today, but I am actively using this 30-day challenge to stretch my writing wings, connect with amazing new blogging friends, and prepare for a brand-new pivot! While the business doors of the past have closed, my creative wheels are spinning. I am learning new skills every day—including taking a joyful personal journey to master the gospel piano.
What You Can Expect From This Space:
  • Daily Encouragement: Honest reflections on how to center your day around the 5 things you love so life never feels like "work."
  • A Joyful Community: A comment section where everyone is welcome, differences are set aside, and kindness wins.
  • An Inside Look at My Next Step: You will be the very first to know when I officially launch my next venture!
How This Helps You:
In a world that feels incredibly chaotic and noisy, this blog is meant to be your daily dose of abundance. It is a reminder that it is never too late to start a fulfilling new chapter, learn something new, or completely reinvent yourself.
I am preparing to pivot soon, and I am so incredibly grateful to have you walking alongside me on this journey. The best is truly yet to come!

Day 21: Turning a Question Into a Connection

By:  Carolyn Wright

There may have been times when people have sent you an email or left a comment asking you a question. What did you do with that? Did you hit reply, answer the question, and then move on?
Normally, that is exactly what we do. We treat questions like tasks on a checklist. We type out a quick answer, hit send, and check it off our to-do list. But lately, I have been thinking about how questions are actually an invitation to share a little bit more of our hearts.
Recently, a lovely reader named Alice left a comment on a blog post where I was sharing my daily philosophy. I had written about how I try to center every single day around 5 things I love. When you do that, life stops feeling like "work" and starts feeling like an abundant gift. One of those 5 daily loves for me is working on learning to play gospel piano.
Alice read that and replied: "That is definitely the way to live an abundant life! Gospel songs sound very appealing to me. Do you have a YouTube page to share that I can take a look?"
It was such a sweet, genuine question. My immediate thought was a simple, quick answer: No, I don't have a YouTube channel! I could have just typed that out, hit reply, and moved on with my day.
But her question made me pause and smile. Even though I don't have a YouTube page to share, her curiosity reminded me of how beautiful it is when our personal passions resonate with someone else. I am not a teacher; I am just a student on a joyful journey, sitting at the piano keys trying to bring more uplifting, abundant energy into my daily routine.
So instead of just hitting reply and moving on, I want to use today's post to answer her fully.
To Alice, and to anyone else wondering: I don't have a channel of my own to share just yet! I am still in the beautiful, messy beginning stages of learning gospel piano. Right now, my "music room" is just for my own daily joy and spiritual filling. But the fact that gospel music appeals to you too tells me we share a love for things that lift the soul.
The next time someone asks you a question—whether it is in a blog comment, an email, or a text—try not to just answer and run. Take a moment to appreciate the connection. You never know how a simple question might inspire your next big reflection!

Ultimate Blog Challenge for July!

Day 20 :  Pick one (or come up with your own) and then write the blog post!
Blog Post: The Power of Lists: Why Your Audience Craves Them (And How to Create Them)
By:  Carolyn Wright
We see them everywhere. "10 Ways to Boost Your Productivity." "5 Foods to Avoid for Better Sleep." "The 3 Secret Tools to Scale Your Business."
It is no secret: people love lists of things they can do (or shouldn't do).
But why are list-based articles—or "listicles"—so incredibly popular, and how can you use them to share your expertise? Let’s dive into why lists work and look at two completely different examples of how you can use them to hook your audience.
Why Lists Capture Our Attention
Our brains love order, and lists provide exactly that. Here is why they work:
  • High Scannability: Readers can skim the page and grab the main points in seconds.
  • Quantifiable Value: A number tells the reader exactly how much value they will get before they even click.
  • Curiosity and Fear of Missing Out (FOMO): Knowing what you should or shouldn't do triggers a strong psychological urge to check if you are doing things right.
Example 1: Teaching a New Skill (The "How-To" List)
If you want to teach someone a skill, breaking it down into a list removes the overwhelm. For example, if you are helping people learn a new instrument, a list provides an easy roadmap.
Instead of saying "Here is how to play music," you can offer a structured list: "5 Simple Songs Every Beginner Can Play on the Piano Today."
By listing specific, actionable steps and notes, you take a massive, intimidating goal (learning the piano) and turn it into a series of quick, achievable wins.
Example 2: Sharing Industry Secrets (The "Do/Don't" List)
Lists are also perfect for helping people improve their business or personal branding. When you frame a list around secrets or mistakes, it instantly creates high value.
Take graphic design and marketing as an example. You could write a list titled: "The Secret to Making Your Brand Stand Out in Canva: 4 Things to Stop Doing Immediately."
By listing the "shouldn'ts"—like using overused template fonts or mixing too many colors—you give your audience a concrete checklist to audit their own work and instantly improve.
My Example: Teaching a New Skill (The "How-To" List)
Here are the chord breakdowns for all three songs using the 1 (C), 4 (F), and 5 (G) chords in the key of C major.
To play these, press the chord letter right when you sing the bolded word.
3 Simple Songs Every Beginner Can Play on the Piano Today:
🎹 Amazing Grace
(1) Amazing (1) grace, how (4) sweet the (1) sound
That (1) saved a (1) wretch like (5) me!

Your Turn
Whether you are teaching a musical instrument, sharing business tips, or writing about healthy habits, look at your core topic today. How can you break it down into a list of things your audience can—or shouldn't—do?
